University of the Aftermarket Kicks off Fundraising Season

June 27, 2014

June 27, 2014—The University of the Aftermarket Foundation announced on Thursday that its summer fundraising has kicked off with a promising start.

The foundation received $15,000 for its scholarship fund—$10,000 from Interstate Batteries and $5,000 from Meineke/Maaco/Driven Brands.

The scholarship fund gives $1,000 awards to students of two-year technical schools or four-year colleges and universities who are pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket. This year the foundation announced it would award 131 students with scholarships.

“The University of the Aftermarket Foundation has just awarded more scholarships than ever before to talented young people looking to join our great industry,” said Bill Maggs, contribution committee, University of the Aftermarket Foundation. “With the help of companies like Interstate Batteries and Meineke/Maaco/Driven Brands, we can continue to expand this successful scholarship program and help train even more next-generation automotive professionals.”
