May 22, 2015—The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recently begun the process to address identified risks associated with trichloroethylene use and other chlorinated solvents in aerosol spray degreasers. The EPA sat down with Automotive Service Association’s (ASA) mechanical leaders for a discussion on the impact of this rule on the automotive world.

ASA participants at the discussion provided real-life examples from their owns shops as well as aggregate information from fellow repairers.

Communication between the ASA and EPA will continue as this rule is developed.
