Auto International Association Announces Name Change, Recognizes Award Winners

Nov. 13, 2015—The Auto International Association (AIA) officially announced its name change to the Import Vehicle Community last week at its annual Awards Luncheon. For over a year, the company has conducted an extensive rebranding initiative, which culminated in a formal name change announced on Nov. 2 during the Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.

The luncheon opened with Ira Davis, chairman of the Import Vehicle Community’s executive leadership council, providing an overview of the segment’s rebrand and the reasons behind it. Davis also recognized the winners of the Import Vehicle Community’s Product Awards, which were announced Nov. 3. The Community People Award winners were also recognized at the luncheon.

The Import Vehicle Community People Awards winners are:

  • Hall of Fame: Kathleen Schmatz, Auto Care Association
  • Peter Klotz Person of the Year: Steve Hughes, Centric Parts
  • Lifetime Achievement: Grant Kitching, Walker Products
  • Young Executive of the Year: Scott Drozd, FCP Euro
