VW Outlines Plan for U.S. Comeback

Nov. 22, 2016—On Tuesday, Volkswagen outlined a plan to once again become a major player in the U.S. automotive market after its emissions scandal, according to a report by USA Today.  

The plan includes two stages and will involve focusing on key segments, including large SUVs and limousines, and bringing electric cars to North America, according to the report.

The company has suffered in the U.S. since it was exposed for cheating on emissions tests. U.S. sales of the VW brand were down 13.1 percent the first 10 months of 2016 compared to last year, according to Autodata.
