GM to Add to its Electric Lineup

Oct. 8, 2014

Oct. 8, 2014—In addition to the Volt plug-in hybrid and Spark EV minicar, General Motors plans to expand Chevrolet’s green offerings by adding an electric model to its lineup, according to Automotive News.

The name of the vehicle or a timeline for its induction has not yet been disclosed, but it’s likely to be a variation of the Chevy Spark EV, as that vehicle is currently only available for purchase in California and Oregon, and has seen steady sales.

The Spark features a battery that can travel around 90 miles when fully charged, and GM is said to be working a 200-mile battery for a new model according to the report.
