AASP-MN to Host Workshop

Oct. 7, 2015—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Minnesota (AASP-MN) announced on Tuesday that it will host a General Motors Common Issues and Fixes workshop on Nov. 17 from 4–8 p.m. The workshop will be held at EP Auto, Tire & Glass in Eden Prairie, Minn.

Ralph Dahlen, director of training at IDENTIFIX, will present the training and cover common GM drivability issues for 2000–2015 models. Discussion topics will include things that are breaking and the correct fixes, and gasoline and diesel engine issues.  

Learner Objectives/Outcomes

Have a good understanding of GM drivability “hot topic” issues from the last 15 years, including:  

  • Variable valve timing
  • Spark ignition direct injection
  • Displacement on demand
  • Gen III-V V-8 engine
  • Duramax Diesel
  • Emission device/control
  • Class 2 data line
  • CAN data line
