Oct. 27, 2015—The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has announced that it will name Glen Nicholson as its new president at its Annual Membership Meeting on Nov. 2. Nicholson will serve a one-year term.
Nicholson started working as a tire technician while he attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. While there, he was offered a full-time job as an auto technician for National Tire Warehouse (NTW). Eighteen months later, he was promoted to manager of that location.
Nicholson held other store manager jobs before he was offered a job with TBC Corporation teaching sales and store management for Tire Kingdom Service Centers.
He currently serves as senior director, retail training for TBC Corporation, where he oversees all training efforts for the company’s three retail and three franchise brands, which include Tire Kingdom, NTB Tire & Services Centers, Merchant’s Tire & Auto Service Centers, Midas, Big O Tires and SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service.
TIA will also name Tom Formanek, regional sales manager, Stellar Industries as its new vice president and David Martin, director of sales- tire supplies and speciality rubber, American Tire Distributors as its new secretary.
The Annual Membership meeting will be held from noon to 12:30 p.m. at the Tropicana Las Vegas on Nov. 2.
