Sept. 4, 2014—California shop owner Carolyn Coquillette announced this week that Shop-Ware, a web-based inspection, documentation and information-sharing tool for repair shops, is now available nationwide.
Shop-Ware runs through a Web browser, allowing shop staff to access it through computer, tablet or smartphone. Its current features allow for shops to create customized checklists (or use preset ones), perform inspections, and share results within the shop or directly with customers.
Customers, after receiving the inspection, then have the ability to approve or decline suggested repairs through the program.
Shop-Ware also archives all past jobs.
Coquillette initially founded Shop-Ware as a way to share inspection and repair information between her staff and with her customers at Luscious Garage in San Francisco. As the program became more advanced, it eventually morphed into a stand-alone product.
