Arizona Shop First in State to Receive HEV Advanced Diagnostics Certification

July 25, 2013

July 25, 2013—Good Works Auto Repair in Tempe, Ariz., recently became the first repair shop in Arizona to earn the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) advanced diagnostic certification.

Good Works was awarded the certification after a five-day training course that involved lectures, labs, daily assessments, and a practical and written exam.

SAE International established the certification earlier this spring to help bridge the gap between HEV diagnostic processes and systems information currently used by the repair industry.

“Today’s technologically-advanced machines require technologically-advanced tools and highly trained auto technicians, both of which are in short supply,” said Nathan Merrill, owner of Good Works Auto Repair. “That is why Good Works Auto Repair has invested extensive amounts of time into making sure their technicians are hybrid certified and trained.”
