June 6, 2017—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) and ASA-Ohio are urging their members to contact state legislators to an auto insurance-related amendment to Ohio budget legislation.
The amendment would transfer responsibility for informing motorists when non-original-equipment parts are used in a repair from insurers to repair shops.
"As most auto insurers' policies require the use of non-OEM or used parts during the repair of the vehicle, this measure would place an unfair burden of enforcing the insurers' provisos on the repairer," the ASA said in a press release.
