Woman Injured After Fall into Service Pit

A woman was injured after she fell into an service pit at a service station in Morganton, N.C, the Morganton News Herald reports.

April 18, 2018—A woman was injured after she fell into an service pit at a service station in Morganton, N.C, the Morganton News Herald reports.

A woman, whose name has not yet been provided, was having her vehicle serviced at Snappy Lube in Morganton around 12:15 p.m., Jason Black, operations and training director for EMS said.

The woman was talking to those working on her vehicle and she accidentally stepped off into the service pit, Black said.

Emergency responders on scene were able to lift the woman out using a “stair chair” and the woman was able to sit herself on the seat to be lifted out, Black said.

She received a minor injury to one of her legs and was transported by Burke EMS for further evaluation, he said.

“She is very lucky,” Black said.
