BP Invests in EV Battery Charging Company

May 22, 2018—BP has invested in StoreDot, a company that has developed a lithium ion-based battery technology that enables fast charging.

StoreDot is developing a new type of electric-car battery that will aim to achieve a charging time comparable to the time it takes to refuel a car with gasoline.

BP invested $20 million in the developer.StoreDot aims to commercialize its flash battery for mobile devices as early as 2019.
