Illinois County Board Approves Repair Shop

The La Salle County Board approved the repair shop in a 14-12 vote.

Dec. 3, 2018—A request to set up an auto repair garage in Ottawa, Ill. was approved by the La Salle County Board, according to The Times. John and Polly Kirby requested about one-half acre to be rezoned from agriculture use to business. 

The Times reports that the property is southwest of Ottawa and owned by William and Debra Mucci. 

The board approved a 14-12 vote to rezone the area. According to the publication, board member, Thomas Thrush, expressed concern about the impact a garage would have as it's nearby the Starved Rock State Park.
