Report Reveals Best Cars for the Money

Feb. 22, 2013

Feb. 22, 2013—U.S. News & World Report announced the 2013 Best Cars for the Money award winners, with Ford Motor Company earning awards for six of its models.

The awards cover 21 automotive categories, from compact cars to three-row SUVs, and are judged based on a composite score of quality and value data. The rankings compare cars on the basis of safety, reliability and a consensus of industry experts’ opinions.

Ford took home the most awards with six of its models selected as winners: Escape, Taurus, Fusion, Focus, Edge and Fusion Hybrid. This is the second year in a row that Ford has won six awards.

Other award winners were a mix between foreign and domestic automakers. Import brands took home twelve awards; five of those awards went to Toyota and its Scion and Lexus brands.

Another U.S. auto maker, General Motors, took home three awards.
