August 16, 2019—Ford is recalling 103,374 of its 2015 Fusion ad Lincoln MKZ cars over seatbelt concerns, reports Consumer Reports.
The recall comes after realizing the seat belt anchors may not work properly. The pretensioner is supposed to rapidly lock a seat belt in place when the car detects a crash, and could increase the risk of injury.
Ford says its aware of one injury related to the defect, and will start to notify customers of the recall on Sept. 9, where places will be prepared by then to fix the problem.
