Squirrels Stashed Over 200 Walnuts in Car Hood

Oct. 10, 2019

A viral Facebook post warned drivers to check under their car hoods every once in awhile after over 200 walnuts were discovered under an owner's vehicle.

Oct. 10, 2019—A Pennsylvania woman was driving her car when she smelled something burning and heard a strange noise, only to find out over 200 walnuts were shoved into the hood of her car, reports CBS News.

"Here's a little PSA for everyone on this rainy Monday," wrote Chris Persic in a viral Facebook post about his wife’s, Holly, situation. "Rodents and vehicles do not mix ..."

After cleaning most of it up and taking it into an auto repair shop, an additional half trashcan worth of nuts were discovered below the engine, according to CBS Pittsburgh. However, no permanent damage was done to the vehicle.

"Do yourself a favor and check under the hood every once in a while,” Persic said.
