Northern Calif. Shop Reopens Following Fire

Dec. 26, 2019

The auto repair shop has opened back up in the same location after a fire burnt it down back in March 2018.

Dec. 26, 2019—An auto repair shop in Stockton, Calif., has re-opened after a fire burnt it down back in March 2018, according to a report by KCRA 3.

Buckenham’s Stuttgart West Auto Repair's owner, Mike Buckenham, said he ended up in the UC Davis Burn Center when trying to stop the blaze. The fire also burned some German sports cars, the type the auto shop specializes in fixing.

According to the report, what was left of the building had to be re-engineered to bring everything up to current building codes. Buckenham said he didn't want to see his father's legacy completely torn down after starting the business in downtown Stockton and running it for over 40 years.
