Auto Repair Exempt from Illinois Shelter-in-Place

March 23, 2020

While the Illinois executive order is in place until April 7, auto repair facilities and related supply chains are exempt from the order.

March 23, 2020—The governor of Illinois has issued a "shelter-in-place" order for the state, which started on Saturday, March 21, and will go through April 7. While the executive order is in place, auto repair facilities and related supply chains are exempt from the order, according to an email by the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Illinois.

The executive order states all gas stations, auto supply, auto repair, and related facilities will remain open during the shelter-in-place.

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Illinois remains in contact with government officials to seek any clarifications regarding these executive actions as well as any other information regarding resources needed by the industry, according to the email.
