Locals are offering support after a Chualar, Calif. shop was lost in a Christmas Day fire.
Dec. 29, 2020—Local residents and business owners are offering their support after Alcala's Machine Shop in Chualar, Calif. was destroyed in a fire on Christmas Day, reports KION 5/46.
The shop had been a community staple for nearly 30 years. With the help of nearby fire departments, local fire crews were able to put out the fire within hours but the shop had been reduced to rubble and at least 15 cars were destroyed at a shop next door.
Alfonso Alcala, the shop owner's son, told the outlet next steps will include working with insurance companies to determine how or if the shop can be rebuilt. A GoFundMe has been organized to help the shop and its employees through the tough time.
