August 21, 2018—The Auto Care Association (ACA) has selected the 2018 recipients of the Auto Care Internship Grant.

Thirteen students received scholarships of $2,500 to contribute to the costs of round-trip travel from their permanent address to the internship location, lodging, utilities and food.

The 2018 Internship Grant recipients are:

    • Brock Marazita from Niles, Mich. attending Northwood University and interning at Multi Parts Solutions.
    • Brooke Regalado from Midland, Mich. attending Northwood University and interning at Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.
    • Candelaria Flores from Long Beach, Calif. attending California State University Long Beach and interning at Cummins Inc.
    • Daniel Valesco from Northridge, Calif. attending California State University Northridge and interning at Cummins Inc.
    • Elizabeth Amalfitano from Bellmore, N.Y. attending Mississippi State University and interning at Auto Zone.
    • Ethan Peterson from Wheaton, Ill. attending Grove City College and interning at Cardone Industries.
    • Landon Schamberg from Templeton, Pa. attending Grove City College and interning at Cardone Industries.
    • Nathan Powers from Saline, Mich. attending Northwood University and interning at Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance.
    • Olivia Miller from Shippensburg, Pa. attending Shippensburg University and interning at East Penn Manufacturing.
    • Prajwalkumar Shetty from Dallas, Texas attending The University of Texas at Dallas and interning at Robert Bosch LLC.
    • Rebekah Wieczorek from Madison, Ala. attending Auburn University and interning at NA Williams.
    • Rishabh Shah from Raleigh, N.C. attending Sardar Patel College of Engineering and interning at Robert Bosch LLC.
    • Taylor Colman from Indiana, Pa. attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania and interning at East Penn Manufacturing.

“Receiving the Auto Care Grant has enabled me to expand my knowledge and career opportunities to where I did not think would be possible this summer,” said Landon Schamberg. “I was able to accept the position I desired, which was far from home, rather than a job that was just ‘convenient.’”

“The opportunities to chase your career goals can often be few and far between, if not limited by external factors,” said Ethan Peterson. “The Auto Care Association's work to eliminate these roadblocks for rising students is an incredible help to those of us who greatly benefit from the extra aid. The grant provided has allowed me to go far to lay a foundation for my future career and not have to be limited by financial means.”

“This grant has opened so many doors for me this summer and allowed me to learn so much more than I expected in the short time I’ve been here,” said Rebekah Wieczorek. “Not having to wonder where I would get the money from to pay for food and my apartment has been an absolute blessing and gives me more time to focus on my work and really devote my time to learning and experiencing as much as I can during my time in Raleigh.”

The Auto Care Internship Grant program was designed to provide financial support for students pursuing internships across the country to gain valuable, real-world education in a variety of auto care industry careers. The program was funded by a grant from the University of the Aftermarket Foundation and the Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG).
