July 25, 2018—Cadillac is recalling 22,043 of its 2016-2018 CT6 sedans because excess adhesive on the lower LATCH anchor may make it difficult for owners to install a car seat, according to Consumer Reports.

Cadillac recommends that, until the recall repair is performed, owners of affected vehicles install car seats using the vehicle’s rear seat belts according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

“If parents can’t attach to the lower LATCH anchor, there’s no need to worry,” says Emily Thomas, Ph.D., an automotive safety engineer at Consumer Reports. “In our evaluations of the CT6, we found that in all rear-seating positions, we were able to achieve a secure installation with the seat belt.”
