June 12, 2018—SHIFTMobility Inc. announced the release of CarCheck Pro smart vehicle inspections.
CarCheck Pro enables any service center to quickly add or retrieve vehicle information from blockchains via an integrated VIN scanner or license plate lookup, select from an extensive library of canned or custom inspection forms, and instantly share with customers over email or SMS.
“CarCheck Pro is the answer to the lack of consumer trust prevalent in the automotive repair industry. When vehicle inspection reports are simple to create, easy to understand, secured by blockchain technology, and can be delivered directly to the recipients preferred device, service centers can stimulate customer engagement and foster trust through transparency,” Elliott Schendel, director of marketing said in a statement.
Blockchains aim to improve efficiency at auto repair shops, said the co-founder CarFix Vladimir Lupenko, who spoke with Ratchet+Wrench last year about how blockchains will soon play a significant role in shops.
CarCheck Pro’s digital inspection sheets cover everything from pre-sale reports to tires, brakes, even oil and milestone services. The app can be used independently or integrated with ShopLite, SHIFTMobility’s connected shop management system.
Last year, SHIFTMobility announced a partnership with eBay, to connect its repair shops to eBay’s network of parts.
