Hyundai Adds Production of Santa Fe Sport to Alabama Plant

Jan. 8, 2016—On Thursday, Hyundai Motor Co. said that it will add production of the Santa Fe Sport to its plant in Montgomery, Ala., according to a report by Reuters.

The Santa Fe Sport will be one of three models assembled at the Alabama plant, joining the Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan and compact Hyundai Elantra.

“The new production will help us meet the growing demand for one of our most popular products,” said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO, according to the report.

Production of the Santa Fe Sport will continue at its factory in West Point, Ga.
