Oct. 1, 2015—The Federated Auto Parts charity golf tournament raised $57,500 for the 2015 Toys for Tots campaign, the company announced on Wednesday.
“Since so many of our members and suppliers were in Richmond for the race weekend, we decided to add a golf outing to our schedule of events,” said Mike Allen, vice president for Federated Auto Parts. “Not only did the participants have a great time, but we were able to raise over $55,000 for Toys for Tots, bringing our total to over $250,000 already raised this year for this worthy cause.”
The outing, held at the Stonehouse Golf Club in Toano, Va., kicked off the Federated 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend. Federal-Mogul Motorparts was the presenting sponsor of the golf event and Brake Parts Inc. sponsored the awards reception.
“We want to thank everyone who participated in our golf outing,” said Allen. “We have already heard from many folks who could not participate this year, but want to make sure they can take part next year. We look forward to an even bigger turnout, and even more money raised for Toys for Tots, in 2016.”
Participating Federated Auto Parts stores will accept toy donations leading up to the holidays. Financial contributions for Toys for Tots are also being accepted.
