Cars.com Debuts Service, Repair Feature

April 23, 2015

April 22, 2015—Cars.com has launched a new feature aimed at helping car owners feel more comfortable going through the auto repair process, the company announced recently.

Cars.com partnered with RepairPal to create the new "Service & Repair" feature, which provides a price estimate for a person's specific repair service, including a breakdown of the cost of parts and labor so a customer knows what to expect when they get to the shop. The site also helps people find service centers nearby, and it provides reviews to help select the right location.

"Most people can relate to the anxiety that occurs when the 'check engine' light comes on. Thoughts of expensive repairs and worst-case scenarios fill your mind," Cars.com executive editor Joe Wiesenfelder said in a statement. "That apprehension is warranted because drivers spend nearly $1,000 per year maintaining their car. With the launch of our revolutionary Service & Repair feature, we aim to help relieve some of the stress that affects drivers when they see that little red light illuminate."

The goal is to take the unknowns out of servicing and maintaining your vehicle, Cars.com said.
