ASA Announces Telematics Webinar Presenters

July 22, 2016

July 22, 2016—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced Thursday the speakers for its telematics webinar, to be held on July 27.

The webinar will discuss the current state of telematics and new-technology policy.

The webinar will be hosted by Robert L. Redding Jr., ASA Washington, D.C., representative. Participants in the webinar include Donny Seyfer, chairman of ASA and co-owner of Seyfer Automotive in Wheat Ridge, Colo.; Chris Gardner, vice president of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association; and Wayne Weikel, senior director of State Government Affairs for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.

Telematics refers to the connected car and the coming autonomous car, with features including software used in instrumentation, backup sensors, adaptive cruise control, cameras, wireless communications systems and more. Repair shops who wish to remain competitive will have to invest in new equipment and training, as well as educate themselves on legislative policy surrounding these technologies.

Click here to register for the webinar, which will start at 1:30 p.m. (EDT).
