Mercedes-Benz Announces New CEO

Dec. 22, 2015—Dietmar Exler will replace Steve Cannon as the new CEO of Mercedes-Benz in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, according to a report by USA Today.

The shift in management comes at a time when Mercedes is experiencing mixed sales. However, a specific reason for the change was not given.

"Dietmar's appointment is central to reinforcing our strategy and our standards around the world, and will continue to strengthen the ties and collaboration within our marketing & sales network," said Ola Kaellenius, member of the board of management of for Mercedes' parent Daimler, in a statement according to the report.
