Bosch Introduces Smart Gas Pedal

Jan. 25, 2016

Jan. 25, 2016—Bosch announced on Monday that it has developed a gas pedal that can alert drivers when they are burning fuel at high rates, heading into a curve at a high rate or breaking the speed limit, according to a report by USA Today.

The gas pedal delivers a gentle vibration to the driver’s foot when the car is speeding. The pedal can only alert drivers if they are going around a curve too fast if the vehicle is equipped with a navigation system and cameras that read road signs. With that technology, drivers can also be alerted if they are speeding, going the wrong way on a one-way street, encounter congestion or experience other hazards.
