April 10, 2013—Mitchell 1 ProDemand now includes a vehicle identification number (VIN) entry feature, making it simpler for technicians to access the correct repair information for the vehicles in their stalls.
Mitchell 1 officials claim the feature will provide technicians with accurate repair information as vehicle technology continues to evolve.
“As vehicle complexity continues to increase, it becomes more difficult for technicians to ensure they are correctly identifying the vehicle and the information they need to complete the repair,” Ben Johnson, director of product management for Mitchell 1, said in a statement. “The ability to enter the vehicle identification number, or transfer that from the shop management system, and have the system decode that to the correct year/make/model/engine configuration drives accuracy and efficiency in the work bay, which is always Mitchell 1’s focus.”
