Gates Corp. Releases Mobile App Upgrade

Sept. 26, 2014

Sept. 26, 2014—The Gates Corporation recently announced the release of version 2.0 of its NaviGates mobile app, according to a company press release.

NaviGates is an automotive service app that enables users to search for belt routing diagrams and Gates OE quality aftermarket parts by vehicle category, vehicle identification number, keyword and OE/competitor part number interchange.

The 2.0 update features a new look and new attributes that contribute to a more user-friendly interface.

The app now utilizes the phone’s camera to scan the VIN barcode and also features a store locator and multiple product images.

Gates said that when compared with the conventional, handwritten way of looking up a VIN, technicians who use the NaviGates app save an average of five to seven labor hours per month.
