Former CIA, NSA Director to Speak at AAPEX 2016

June 9, 2016—Former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and National Security Agency (NSA), retired four-star General Michael Hayden will speak at the AAPEX 2016 General Session on Nov. 2, from 8-8:50 a.m., at the Venetian in Las Vegas. 

Hayden will discuss political situations in hot spots around the world and offering an insider’s look at what it means for America and America’s interests. He will also discuss America’s changing informational and technological landscape, and the risks and rewards of cyber security. 

Capping a career that included nearly 40 years in the Air Force, Hayden served as the director of the NSA from 1999-2005 and director of the CIA from 2006-2009. He has served in several other intelligence positions during his military career. He wrote the upcoming book “Playing to the Edge: American Intelligence in the Age of Terror.” Currently, Hayden is a principal at the Chertoff Group and a distinguished visiting professor at George Mason University’s School of Policy, Government and International Affairs.
