MW Motors has released the Luka EV, which is believed to be the first production car that uses in-wheel electric motors.
April 16, 2018—Tiny Czech company Marcus Ward Motors (aka MW Motors) has released its first product, the Luka EV, which is believed to be the first production car that uses in-wheel electric motors. As reported by cleantechnica.com, in-wheel motors could lead to even more opportunities for innovation in the rapidly evolving auto industry.
MW Motors says their Luka EV weighs 1,800 pounds. And, while it’s horsepower is just 66, the company claims the vehicle can reach a top speed of 90 mph, with a range of 180 miles.
The design of the Luka EV is retro, and loosely approximates that of the Triumph Spitfire GT6.
