Trustees of Wheeling, Ill., halted the Chicago-based auto repair shops plans to move to the area, as most agreed the proposal would not meet code requirements.
May 9, 2019—Wheeling, Ill., trustees halted plans to move Chicago Auto Repair to the village, as most agreed its Wolf Road site could not meet code requirements, according to a story by Journal & Topics.
In order to move to the building on N. Wolf Road, owners of Chicago Auto Repair requested a parking variance of 17 spaces and special use site plan approval to run an auto repair shop in a commercial/residential mixed use district, according to the story.
Plans for the shop included five lifts for repairs and operating hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, according to the story.
Trustees Monday voted against (4-3) both requests.
