Jan. 24, 2019—A Florida high school has an increasing enrollment of women interested in auto repair, ABC Action News reports. Seniors of East Bay High School in Gibson, Fla., have shown interest in working in auto shops, the station reports.
“We can like cars as much as boys do,” Zeydi Cervantes, student said to ABC Action News.
Seniors and Zeydi Cervantes Tessa Valentino expressed their interest in the field with the station. According to ABC Action News, Cervantes' family all frequently works on vehicles.
“I feel like women are getting out of their comfort zone and want to prove all these people wrong,” Cervantes said to ABC Actions News.

“Women have more of a multitasking brain than men," Tessa said to ABC Action News. "We can handle more things at once."
Easy Bay High auto instructor, George Walker says he's seen an increase in women interested in his classes, and he agrees with Tessa.
“The women are a lot more organized," Walker said to ABC Action News. "When I’m giving instructions, and we get out to shop, they know what to do.”
