Oregon, Washington Join California in Gas-Powered Car Ban

Dec. 29, 2022

West Coast of U.S. aligns to create zero-emission by 2035 a reality.

Dec. 29, 2022—Oregon and Washington have joined California’s bid to end sales of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035.

Though both states intend to be emission-free by 2035, their plans permit plug-in hybrids that use gasoline, similar to what has been outlined by California, according to Green Car Reports.

Other states, such as Colorado, are adopting the policies of California on emissions rules but not the adoption of California's ACC II rules.
