Oct. 10, 2022

Vermont residents who drive "high-polluting" vehicles are being offered $3,000 through a state program to switch to EVs.

Oct. 10, 2022—Vermont hopes to incentivize residents who drive “high-polluting” vehicles with $3,000 for swapping out their old rides for EVs.

The state’s Replace Your Ride (RYR) program deems eligible trade-in vehicles must be at least 10 years old to qualify, and “be Vermont residents listed on both the EV purchase or lease agreement and the retired vehicle's registration,” according to Green Car reports. The program is available on a first-come, first-served basis until its $4.5 million funding runs out.
