GM Invests $491B in Metal Stamping Facility for EV Production

The plant expansion allows the automaker to produce steel and aluminum stamped parts for future products and electric vehicles.

Sept. 16, 2022—General Motors intends to invest $491 million to produce more steel and aluminum stamped parts for electric vehicles, reported Reuters

GM will use its Marion Metal Center in Marion, Indiana to install a pair of new press lines, complete press and die upgrades, and expand its facility by 6,000 square feet.
