Hyundai Hit with Class Action Suit

April 18, 2022

More than 20 models are affected by an engine consumption flaw.

April 18, 2020—A new lawsuit blames Hyundai for not making buyers aware of engine oil consumption issues in more than 20 of its models.

The plaintiffs say Hyundai should have recalled the engine. Hyundai’s original remedy—owners perform 1,000-mile interval tests and refill the reservoir as needed was rebuffed by the owners of its cars. The company then offered to cover the replacement cost of the engine but asked buyers to pay $2,500, or 50 percent, themselves.

No date on when the case will be heard. Here’s a complete list of Hyundai models affected by excess oil consumption.
