Feb. 10, 2022—Nissan plans to stop developing new internal combustion engines in all major markets except the US to focus on EVs, Reuters reported.
The automaker will continue limited development of its gasoline engines for its U.S. market, mainly for pickup trucks.
Nissan has previously announced its plans to build new battery factories in the U.S. and Europe by the end of 2025. Nissan is just the latest automaker to make increasingly strong commitments to EVs at the expense of ICEs.
