Ford Calls New EV Investment 'Largest-Ever'

The company plans to invest $11.4 billion at a "mega-site" in Tennessee and another in Kentucky.

Sept. 29, 2021—Ford Motor Co. says it is making "the largest-ever U.S. investment in electric vehicles at one time by any automotive manufacturer."

The company  along with its partner, SK Innovation — plans to invest $11.4 billion at a "mega-site" in Tennessee and another in Kentucky, which will build the company's F-Series vehicles. The facility also will include a battery plant.

The auto manufacturer intends to create a total of nearly 11,000 new jobs at the Tennessee and Kentucky facilities.
