Sept. 16, 2021—Just 38 percent of small business owners feel the economy is moving in the right direction.

In an interview with Yahoo! Finance, Joe Wall, national director of Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses and voices, revealed the statistic, part of the company’s latest research.

“So dating back to June, which we did our last survey, at that time, 67 percent of small business owners felt like things in the US were moving in the right direction. That number has now declined to 38 percent, so reflecting a 29 percent decline.”

The conversation also revealed 73 percent of small businesses are hiring, but 87 percent say they’re having a tough time filling those vacancies.
