July 26, 2021—asTech has received a patent for its remote diagnostics, the company announced in a press release.

The patent is directed to aspects of Repairify's technology, including systems and methods that allow technicians to use a mobile device to read a vehicle’s identification number (VIN), transmit the VIN to a diagnostic database, and assist in determining whether an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) diagnostic tool—or aftermarket tool—is required for proper diagnosis and/or repair of the vehicle.

“asTech’s technology is an industry ‘game changer’ by providing unique functionality to access vital OEM and aftermarket remote diagnostics data via VINs, and this newest patent will help us in protecting that technology” Cris Hollingsworth, president of Repairify, said in a statement.
