Aug. 20, 2020—Lucid Motors has announced that one of its models will be the fastest charging electric vehicle on the market, according to a press release.
According to the release, the Lucid Air will charge at rates of up to 20 miles per minute, which translates to 300 miles of range in 20 minutes. According to Pod Point, a 7kW fast battery can charge up to 30 miles per hour and 150kW rapid battery will charge up to 200 miles in 30 minutes.
This new benchmark for speed of charging is possible through an ultra-high 900V-plus electrical architecture.
The production version of the Lucid Air will debut in an online reveal on Sept. 9. In addition to the vehicle's final interior and exterior designs, new details about production specifications, available configurations, and pricing information will also be shared.
