GEDIA Automotive Group plans to bring 200 jobs to Whitfield County, Ga.
July 29, 2020—GEDIA, a German auto parts manufacturer, creates lightweight structural parts for Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedez-Benz, Volvo and more. The company plans to build a 180,000 square foot facility in Dalton, Ga., where it will manufacture parts exclusively for electric vehicles.
GEDIA will invest $85 million, creating at least 200 jobs in Whitefield County. According to Channel 9 News, the parts maker will use state-of-the-art press hardening, tempering, and automated welding processes to produce parts for electric vehicles.
When the hiring portion kicks off, GEDIA will be looking for skilled technicians, production workers and individuals with management experience. Operations are expect to begin in the fall of 2021.
