Mercedes-Benz Recalls Over 10K Vehicles

July 27, 2018
Approximately 10,800 model-year 2017-18 Mercedes-Benz cabriolets have been recalled.

July 27, 2018—Approximately 10,800 model-year 2017-18 Mercedes-Benz C300 and C300 4Matic cabriolets; and Mercedes-AMG C43 cabriolets, C63 cabriolets and C63S cabriolets have been recalled, Cars.com reports.

Due to a bonding issue introduced in the production process, the rear beltline trim may separate from the vehicle, which could become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Mercedes, through its dealerships, will inspect the cars covered in the recall, particularly in the rear beltline trim area. If found to be faulty and it imposes a risk, the component will have to be replaced.

Mercedes will begin notifying owners on September 9. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
