The Auto Care Association held its 2025 Fall Leadership Days & Legislative Summit at the Hyatt Hotel in Washington, D.C., September 17–19, hosting members from across the country. The three-day program combined the Association’s twice-annual committee meetings with its daylong legislative visits on Capitol Hill, where industry professionals advocated for policies shaping the future of the automotive aftermarket.
Attendees met with senators, congresspersons, and representatives from their home states to appeal for support for the REPAIR (Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair) Act (H.R. 1566) and Senate Bill S1379. For independent repair shop owners, the legislation is mission-critical to ensuring that automakers provide equal access to vehicle data needed to level the playing field with dealerships.
The event, an ongoing effort by ACA to unite the automotive aftermarket and strengthen its voice on legislative issues, aims not only to secure a seat at the table for the aftermarket but ensure consumer choice isn’t overlooked in the process.
