March 6, 2023–An auto repair shop in Fargo, North Dakota has come under fire from city officials for being open in a residential neighborhood, KFGO reports.
John Bultman is the owner of the business located near North Dakota State University and has a “decades-old agreement” on being able to operate his business at that location until he reached his planned retirement age of 70.
When Bultman recently sold the property and began leasing it from new owners, however, the city decided the agreement was now invalid.
“I told them I’d retire at the age of 70 and that’s what I’ll do, from this location,” Bultman stated.
The Fargo City Commission voted “unanimously” during a meeting for Mayor Tim Mahoney to “negotiate” with Bultman.
Though details are not shared on what decision was made, Bultman said that he and Mahoney shook hands, and he said he believes it has been sorted.
