Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket recently held a grand opening ceremony for its new office, warehouse, and distribution center in Strongsville, Ohio, according to a press release.

The new facility measures 250,000 square feet, adding nearly 110,000 square feet to Schaeffler’s North American aftermarket operations, which will now all operate under one roof. 

Schaeffler claims that the move will not only help to meet customer demands, such as express ordering and processing small and large orders, but will also help to reduce the company’s carbon footprint by eliminating the need for internal transport, with an optimized layout being implemented to improve material flow from inbound to outbound.

The grand opening held on June 1 featured remarks from Family Shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Georg F.W. Schaeffler, as well as Director of the Ohio Department of Development, Lydia Mihalik. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held, followed by a tour of the new facility for nearly 100 guests.

“The grand opening of our new Strongsville aftermarket facility celebrated Schaeffler’s continued commitment to our automotive aftermarket business,” said Jerry Conroy, Schaeffler’s Vice President for the Automotive Aftermarket in the USA & Canada. “The new location enables us to better accommodate growth in the North American market.”
