The Virginia Automotive Association (VAA) has hired the Keeney Group as an association management firm for the organization, according to a press release.

The company offers services such as executive, administrative, and financial management; strategic planning; membership development; public affairs; and conference planning services. Now, the Keeny Group will serve at VAA’s headquarters, helping with daily operations and representing VAA to the public.

The Keeny Group, based just outside of Richmond, Virginia, is operated by Executive Director Bo Keeney, who took over ownership of the business in 2012. Keeny has been in the association management business since 2005, the same year he joined the VAA legislative council.

Keeny operates the business alongside his wife, Sarah Keeney, who serves as the associate director and conference planner. She first joined the company in 2008 when she was married and worked there part-time before going full-time in 2015.

The rest of the team consists of Director of Membership Laura Mchale, who began working with the Keeny Group as a membership services specialist for its associations and now serves as the director of member Services for four other state associations.

The team’s newest member is Director of Marketing and Communications Mariah Fitzhugh, who has previously worked on several planning committees and leadership teams.
