Colorado Repair Shop Donates Vehicle to New U.S. Citizen
A repair shop in Colorado Springs, Colorado helped a new citizen of the United States gain reliable transportation, FOX 21 reports.
Adela Martin moved to the United States from Guatemala when she was 16 years old in search of job opportunities. She has supported her three brothers and one sister that immigrated with her, as well as her parents back home in Guatemala.
In addition to supporting her family, Martin currently holds two jobs and is pursuing a GED.
When Adam & Son auto repair learned of Martin’s situation, they were eager to help provide her with transportation to help her reliably get to classes and work.
On August 9, Martin was presented with a used vehicle from Adam & Sons as part of the Stranded Motorist Fund.
Since 2020, Adam & Sons has donated 12 vehicles and given back 150,000 dollars in services through the fund. According to the shop’s Founder and Owner Dan Adam, his shop is one of the only social-impact auto repair shops in the country.
“It’s so great to have employees that have a sense of purpose in coming to work every day and knowing what they do has an impact on our community,” said Adam.
